German commercial broadcaster RTL is set to agree a three-season extension to its rights deal for the Formula One motor-racing championship, according to Bild.
The German newspaper said a deal covering the 2018 to 2020 seasons is close to completion.
Formula One is currently without an active rights partner in the German market. RTL and pay-television broadcaster Sky Deutschland extended their F1 rights for two years, from 2016 to 2017, under a deal struck in August 2015.
The future of Sky as an F1 partner is unclear at the present time. RTL has shown coverage of F1 in Germany since 1991.
