Singapore telco Singtel has acquired rights for the Uefa Champions League and Europa League in a three-year deal, from 2012-13 to 2014-15.
Singtel will show two live Champions League games each match night on its channels Mio Sports 1 and Mio Sports 2. For its Europa League coverage, Singtel will broadcast one match per kick-off slot on Mio Sports 1.
It will also broadcast highlights of both competitions in primetime on Mio Sports 1. The live matches are broadcast in the middle of the night in Asia due to the time difference with Europe.
The rights will also be exploited by Singtel on the internet and on mobile platforms.
The deal was brokered by the Team Marketing agency, the global rights sales agent for the competitions, which are organised by Uefa, football’s European governing body.
