Sky New Zealand extends NBL rights deal

Pay-television broadcaster Sky New Zealand has extended a domestic rights deal for coverage of the Australian National Basketball League.

The agreement will run for the duration of the 2015-16 season.

Sky will broadcast live coverage of three games per round while all other contests will be broadcast on a delayed basis

The deal includes the live broadcast of all matches that feature the NZ Breakers, the only NBL team to be based in New Zealand. NZ Breakers finished as the champion in the 2014-15 NBL season.

Confirmation of the deal comes after Australian pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports also secured a domestic rights agreement with the NBL. Fox Sports will broadcast live coverage of each NBL game from 2015-16 until 2019-20.
