Pay-television broadcaster Sky New Zealand has been awarded exclusive rights in the country to the upcoming under-18 Men’s Softball World Cup.
The event, which is sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), will take place in Palmerston North, New Zealand from February 22 to March 1.
Sky will air a total of 33 games from the 12-team tournament, including the bronze medal match and the final. Games will air on the Sky Sport 8 channel.
All 50 games from the competition will also be streamed for free globally through the WBSC’s Game Time over-the-top platform and via its official YouTube channel. As a result, WBSC softball chairman Tommy Velazquez said the organisation is expecting record-breaking audiences for the World Cup.
