German sports broadcaster Sport1 has acquired the rights to five national team friendly games ahead of the 2014 Fifa World Cup football tournament.
The rights to four of the matches have been acquired from the IMG Media agency and all five will be shown live on free-to-air television.
The four games are Russia v Slovakia and Spain v Bolivia on May 26, along with the Netherlands’ game against Germany’s World Cup group opponent Ghana on May 27 and the Dutch national team’s clash against Wales on June 4.
Outside of the IMG deal, Sport1 will also show the match between Portugal – another of Germany’s group counterparts in Brazil this summer – and Greece on May 31, immediately after the Netherlands-Ghana game.
