German pay-television broadcaster Sportdigital has strengthened its football rights portfolio by securing coverage deals for the Australian A-League and Japanese J.League top-tier domestic tournaments.
The rights for both leagues will run for three seasons, from 2014-15 to 2016-17.
Sportdigital has also confirmed that it has acquired rights for selected matches featuring Rangers, Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian in Scotland’s second-tier Championship during the 2014-15 season.
The games will be shown in addition to coverage of the Scottish Premiership, with Sportdigital having acquired the rights to the top division in a one-year deal last month.
Last month, Sportdigital acquired rights for the Pro League, the top division of Belgian football.
