Sportfive launched the tender for the Euro 2012 rights on Saturday, March 26, with bids due in by April 20. The agency is selling rights for free-to-air television, pay-television, internet and mobile.
“All local TV stations want to buy the rights to broadcast Euro 2012 but we need to find the best way to avoid a loss,” said Ngo Quang Tung, deputy director of the sports channel operated by Vietnam Multimedia Corporation, another state-owned broadcaster. “We’re trying to pay a reasonable price for Euro 2012 broadcasting but it won’t be at any cost.”
Sportfive is selling the rights for Euro 2012 in 49 territories in Asia and Oceania, excluding Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
