Sports and betting-related data company Sportradar has agreed a deal with MP & Silva for the exclusive retail broadcast rights to French Ligue 1 football, along with other sports properties held by the agency.
The Ligue 1 contract includes a minimum of 125 matches for the current 2013-14 season and starts with the live broadcast of the match between Toulouse and Olympique de Marseille on Saturday.
The games will be broadcast on the Live Channel platform, which is operated by Sportradar’s Betradar brand for retail betting operators.
Live Channel launched earlier this summer and provides betting shop operators with live odds, live statistics and live pictures of sports events from around the world.
Sportradar’s deal with MP & Silva also includes France’s Ligue 2 and Coupe de la Ligue football competitions, along with North America’s Major League Soccer.
Live Channel will also be provided with coverage of ATP 250 tennis tournaments; Spanish basketball league, the ACB; and handball’s EHF Champions League and German Bundesliga.
Sportradar’s managing director of media rights, Joern Anhalt, said: “Certainly, our focus is to provide our clients with live sports content during their entire opening hours. To achieve this ambitious goal, we will continue to further expand our media rights portfolio.”
