Swiss public-service broadcaster SRG has extended its rights deals for the Formula One motor racing championship and the MotoGP motorcycling series.
SRG’s new three-year deal with the Formula One Group will run across the 2017 to 2019 F1 seasons, with races and qualifying sessions broadcast live by the RSI, RTR, RTS and SRF channels and platforms.
Meanwhile, SRG has agreed a five-year contract extension with Dorna Sports, MotoGP’s commercial rights-holder.
The agreement will run across the MotoGP seasons spanning 2017 to 2021. It covers the elite MotoGP championship, along with the Moto2 and Moto3 series.
The agreements were struck ahead of the start of the 2017 F1 and MotoGP seasons, which commenced in Melbourne, Australia and Doha, Qatar, respectively, at the weekend.
