Swiss public-service broadcaster SRG SSR has extended a rights deal for the Formula One motor-racing championship for three years, from 2014 to 2016.
SRG SSR, which has broadcast coverage of F1 for 44 years, agreed the deal with Formula One Management, the operator of the championship.
The agreement ensures that the broadcaster’s German-language unit SRF, French-language arm RTS, Italian-language division RSI and Romansch-language unit RTR will continue to offer live coverage.
The 2013 Formula One season concludes with this weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo. Swiss team Sauber enters the final race sitting seventh in the 11-team constructors’ championship.
