Pay-television broadcaster Star India has confirmed the acquisition of rights for the Bundesliga, the top division of football in Germany.
The exclusive rights will run for five seasons, from 2015-16 to 2019-20.
The deal with the DFL Sports Enterprises commercial division of the DFL, the German football league, will cover India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
The matches will be broadcast on television on a live and delayed basis, with live streaming coverage also shown on the Starsports.com website.
The deal was first reported in the Indian media in November 2014, with the details of the agreement confirmed this week.
