Star Sports snaps up Confederations Cup rights

Pan-Asian pay-television broadcaster Star Sports has acquired rights for the 2013 Confederations Cup national team football tournament.

Star Sports struck the deal with Fifa, football’s world governing body, which operates the tournament, for live coverage of all 16 matches live during the June 15-30 tournament.

The broadcaster will exploit the rights on the ESPN and Star Sports 2 channels, according to the Indian Television news website.
