Singaporean pay-television broadcaster StarHub will rebrand its sports channels from August 15.
The channels, currently known as Football Channel, Racquet Channel, SuperSports, SuperSports Plus and Sports HD, will be repackaged into SuperSports 1, SuperSports 2 and SuperSports 3.
The new channel brands will sit alongside existing free-to-air cable-television channel SuperSports Arena.
All of the channels will be available in high definition.
The new SuperSports 1 will have a youthful outlook, showing sports such as tennis, badminton and extreme sports.
SuperSports 2 will broadcast WWE wrestling as well as NBA basketball and the German Bundesliga football top division.
SuperSports 3 will show women’s golf, women’s tennis, swimming and gymnastics.
SuperSports Arena, which launched in 2012, will continue to show a range of local and international sports.
“With the repackaging, sports fans will be able to enjoy a greater variety of sports across various genres within the channels,” StarHub’s head of media business, Lee Soo Hui, said.
