Production company Sunset+Vine has secured a new four-year deal with UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport, extending a partnership that began in 2013.
Sunset+Vine will continue to produce coverage of BT Sport’s portfolio of sports-rights properties from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
The contract will be supported by more than 80 Sunset+Vine staff, with about 1,200 hours of live and magazine programming set to be produced every year.
The deal includes all of BT Sport’s live English Premier League and Uefa Europa League football coverage, along with its entire live rugby union offering, comprising the English Premiership, European Champions Cup, European Challenge Cup and the weekly Rugby Tonight show. The agreement also covers the Scottish Premier Football League, as well as Australia’s international cricket matches and domestic Big Bash League and Women’s Big Bash League.
The value of the new deal was not disclosed, but the Daily Telegraph reported that the BT Sport contract currently accounts for about one-third of Sunset+Vine’s revenues, which totaled £54m (€61m/$72m) in 2016.
