Pay-television sports broadcaster SuperSport, which operates in sub-Saharan Africa, has acquired rights for North America’s NHL ice hockey league.
SuperSport will be able to show up to four live games per week during the regular season plus All-Star games, at least 12 games per round in the post-season playoffs and the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The rights cover mobile and online platforms as well as television, while the length of the deal has not been disclosed.
The agreement was brokered by the AMI/Medge agency, which acts as the exclusive NHL media rights distributor in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
