Spanish telco Telefónica has acquired exclusive rights to the inaugural Davis Cup Finals to be held later this year in the country’s capital, Madrid.
It will show the whole tournament on its Movistar #Vamos channel.
The competition, which will take place from November 18-24, features the top 18 countries in a round-robin group-stage format followed by a knockout phase.
The new tournament is organised and promoted by Kosmos Tennis, in partnership with Davis Cup rights-holder, the International Tennis Federation.
Madrid has been chosen to host the first two editions of the Davis Cup Finals in 2019 and 2020.
Movistar, which is owned by Telefónica, also holds rights in Spain to Wimbledon and all ATP 1000 series as well as ATP 500 and 250 events.
