Australian commercial broadcasters Ten and Seven have submitted bids for Cricket Australia’s next cycle of free-to-air media rights, according to the Australian newspaper.
The rights cover national team Test and one-day matches in Australia plus domestic club competitions the Sheffield Shield and Big Bash League over five years, from 2013-14 to 2017-18.
The report added that telecommunications company Telstra has not submitted a bid, while pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports lodged an offer for domestic Twenty20 competition the Big Bash League, but no other competitions.
Ten and Seven will be up against rival commercial broadcaster Nine, the incumbent rights-holder, which will be given the opportunity to match the highest bid.
