Canadian pay-television sports broadcaster TSN has agreed an extension to its domestic rights deal with the Canadian Football League, the country’s top division of gridiron.
TSN and its French-language cable-television sister channel RDS will continue to provide live coverage of the league for five years, from 2014 to 2018.
The deal is reportedly worth C$30 million (€22.4/$29.1 million) per year, about double the value of the previous agreement.
Under the deal, TSN and RDS will have live rights to all regular-season, play-off and Grey Cup championship games.
The league will expand by one team to become a nine-team competition from the start of the new rights deal.
