TV2 has confirmed a rights deal for the European qualifiers package of national football team rights, while the Norwegian commercial and pay-television broadcaster has also acquired rights for the Uefa Euro 2020 tournament alongside state broadcaster NRK.
The CAA Eleven agency is selling rights on behalf of Uefa, football’s European governing body, to European qualifiers for the Uefa Euro 2020 and 2022 Fifa World Cup tournaments, the 2018-19 and 2020-21 Nations League competitions and other international matches.
TV2’s rights cover all Norway matches, as well as games featuring national teams such as Spain, England, Germany and Italy, plus matches in Norway’s groups.
The deal for Euro 2020 extends a partnership between TV2 and NRK, with the two broadcasters also showing the Euro 2016 and Fifa 2018 World Cup competitions.
