Norwegian commercial and pay-television broadcaster TV2 has acquired rights to new pan-European club ice hockey competition the Champions Hockey League.
Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten said TV2 has struck an initial one-year deal, covering the inaugural season of the CHL.
TV2 will broadcast all games featuring Norway’s two CHL teams, Stavanger Oilers and Vålerenga Oslo, along with the competition’s final.
Coverage of the CHL will commence on the opening day of the season on August 21, where Stavanger will travel to face Finland’s Tappara Tampere before Vålerenga take on ZSC Lions Zurich in Switzerland.
