TV3 teams up with Danish newspaper in digital venture

Danish pay-television broadcaster TV3 has agreed a digital sports rights partnership with the Ekstra Bladet newspaper, according to the Mediawatch.dk website.

The partnership will lead to “many thousands” of free sports clips being presented on the Ekstrabladet.dk website and is designed to boost the digital presence of both TV3 Sport and the newspaper.

Rights covered by the deal include Danish Superliga, English Premier League and Uefa Champions League football, along with other properties held by the Modern Times Group-owned broadcaster such as American football’s NFL, tennis and handball.

Content such as game highlights and interviews will be provided on the Ekstrabladet.dk, Ekstra Bladet TV and TV3sport.dk platforms.

MTG’s head of sport, Peter Nørrelund, said: “We are the largest player in sport on television, and we will also be the greatest player in sport on web TV. We will supply all the best of our sports content from TV to this new venture.”
