TVNorge picks up Europa League rights from C More

Norwegian basic-tier broadcaster TVNorge has acquired rights for Uefa Europa League games from pay-television broadcaster C More Entertainment.

According to the Kampanje news website, TVNorge acquired the rights for up to 14 matches per season over three years, from 2012-13 to 2014-15, and will show the games on its basic-tier pay-television channel Max.

Norwegian clubs Molde and Rosenborg are competing in this season’s Europa League. Max’s coverage of the tournament will begin with Molde’s match against German club Stuttgart tomorrow.

“The acquisition of these rights shows once again that we are serious about our football and sports offering,” TVNorge chief executive Harald Strømme said.

C More had acquired the Europa League rights in Norway from Team Marketing, Uefa’s media distribution partner, in a deal for the 2012-13 to 2014-15 seasons also covering Denmark and Sweden.
