Social media platform Twitter has entered into its first live sports streaming agreement in Argentina through a partnership with Liga Nacional de Básquetbol, the organising body of club basketball in the country.
The agreement has been brokered by digital media company IMS, Twitter’s exclusive commercial representative in Argentina, and will cover the La Liga finals between San Lorenzo and Regatas.
The live stream will be available free of charge on @LigaNacional and via the Twitter application on connected devices such as Apple TV and Microsoft’s Xbox One games console.
The live video will also be provided through the Twitter Explore tab, where content will be highlighted at the top of the page. The games broadcast by La Liga on Twitter will be in Spanish.
The live stream is being sponsored by insurance group La Caja and commenced with the first game of the finals series on Thursday. The second game is scheduled for today (Monday).
