Commercial and pay-television broadcaster Modern Times Group has acquired rights in Denmark for the Ultimate Fighting Championship mixed martial arts series.
The deal will run for four years, from 2016 to 2019. The rights will be exploited on MTG’s TV3 Sport pay-television channel.
TV3 Sport will show live coverage of fights as well as highlights, archive material and magazine programming. Digital service Viaplay will also show coverage of fights.
James Elliott, the UFC’s general manager and vice-president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said that the deal with MTG would “undoubtedly help to lift the UFC to new heights in Europe”.
He added: “The broadcaster's geographical distribution is in line with our objectives in the Nordic market, and we look forward to seeing what 2016 has to offer.”
