US pay-television broadcaster Univision Deportes has agreed a multi-year partnership with the National Basketball Association to provide fans in the US with Spanish-language content from the North American basketball league.
Univision Deportes will broadcast NBA programming via its UniMás network and the Univision Deportes Network (UDN) Spanish-language sports network.
From March 26, UDN will broadcast the ‘NBA Action’ weekly basketball show in Spanish.
In addition, UniMás will broadcast Zona NBA, a new one-hour weekly show that will this season feature the NBA Playoffs and NBA Finals. The programme will also feature interviews with players and coaches.
Univision Deportes and the NBA will also launch enhanced co-branded web and mobile sites. The Spanish-language sites will feature video highlights.
As part of its coverage, Univision Deportes will broadcast various NBA marquee events such as the NBA All-Star game, in addition to the NBA Playoffs and the NBA Finals. The broadcaster will also collaborate with the NBA on various activities throughout the season.
