US pay-television broadcaster Univision Deportes has confirmed it has officially secured broadcast rights to all 18 teams in Liga MX for the 2017-18 season of the top division of Mexican football.
The distribution deal includes live broadcast on Univision Deportes’ television platforms in major markets across the US, as well as digital platforms nationwide.
Univision said rights to newly-promoted Lobos de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, known as Lobos BUAP, were secured during the mid-2017 season ensuring that fans can watch the club’s games, as well as those played by the other 17 teams, through Liga MX’s 2017-18 Apertura and Clausura tournaments.
Univision added that Liga MX is the most-watched football league in the US, regardless of language.
