Argentine Olympic Committee president Gerardo Werthein has been elected as the new chairman of Olympic Broadcasting Services, the host broadcast organisation for all Olympic Games.
The International Olympic Committee made the announcement after Richard Pound, who had served in the position since 2014, was removed from the post last week.
Werthein (pictured) has been an IOC member since 2011 and is president of the Buenos Aires 2018 Organising Committee for the summer Youth Olympic Games.
He has been a member of the board of directors of OBS for four years and featured in a number of IOC Commissions, including Radio and Television, Digital and Technology, TV Rights and New Media, Marketing, and Press.
Yiannis Exarchos continues to head the OBS administration as chief executive.
