UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport and media rights distribution agency RDA TV have reached agreements with West Ham United for rights to the English Premier League football club’s pre-season friendly match against Italian Serie A champion Juventus.
The game will take place on August 7 at the London Stadium, with an opening ceremony taking place prior to kick-off to mark the club’s move to the ground, which has been redeveloped following its role as the centrepiece of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
BT Sport has acquired exclusive rights in the UK and Ireland to broadcast the match live. West Ham has also teamed up with RDA TV, which will oversee the international distribution of the match.
West Ham faces Slovenian side NK Domžale in the Uefa Europa League on Thursday in its first game at London Stadium, with the Juventus fixture set to serve as the ground’s official curtain-raiser.
