The University of Miami has claimed a first for US college sport by developing a virtual reality channel for fans of its athletics teams.

Australian pay-television operator Foxtel has acquired rights to the 2016 College Football Sydney Cup, which will act as the season-opener of the 2016 National Collegiate Athletic Association College Football Championships.

US broadcasters CBS and Turner agreed to pay a 43-per-cent fee increase to lock down NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship rights until 2032.
