Football: Japanese pay-operator Wowow and commercial broadcaster TBS acquired the rights for all 31 matches of Euro 2008 in a deal brokered by the Sportfive agency on behalf of Uefa. TV Sports Markets understands that Wowow is paying ¥1.7bn (£8 million/€10.6 million) for live coverage of all matches and TBS ¥560m for select live matches and daily highlights. In Japan, free-to-air channel TBS will broadcast a selection of matches. Pay-TV platform WOWOW TV will cover all 31 games.
