Athletics: The IEC in Sports agency agreed deals with free-to-air broadcasters in five European countries for the rights for the World Athletics Series from 2011 to 2013, including the athletics World Championships. The deals were with Danish public-service broadcaster DR, Estonian public-service broadcaster ETV, Lithuanian state-owned broadcaster LTV, Belarusian state-owned broadcaster Belarus TV, and the Turkish Athletics Federation. The Turkish federation has sub-licensed the rights for the 2011 World Championships and 2012 World Indoor Championships to public-service broadcaster TRT. TRT will host broadcast the 2012 Championships in Istanbul. The federation has rights to sublicense on the rest of the content. IEC sells the rights on behalf of the International Association of Athletics Federations.
