Football: Spanish commercial broadcasters Telecinco and Cuatro acquired the rights to Euro 2012 from Uefa, European football’s governing body. The deal is worth just less than €65m ($92.3m) but could rise to €70m depending on the performance of the Spanish team. The fee is a decrease on the €75m paid by Prisa-owned pay-television operator Sogecable for the Euro 2008 rights. Telecinco and Cuatro will split the coverage of all 31 games from the tournament but only Telecinco will show all of the Spanish national team’s games. The deal also includes rights for the 2011 and 2013 U-21 European Championships.
