Live television audiences for rugby union’s Six Nations championship in 2015 were up year-on year in the tournament’s largest market, the UK, where public-service broadcaster the BBC recorded an average of 4.808 million (32.6-per-cent share) viewers per match. This was a 15-per-cent increase on its 2014 average audience of 4.198 million (28.7-per-cent share). This year’s average is just shy of the 4.875 million (29.9-per-cent share) average audience achieved in 2013, an all-time high in the UK.
