UK pay-television broadcaster BSkyB is to dedicate one of its Sky Sports channels to coverage of the Professional Darts Corporation’s 2015 World Darts Championship event.
The broadcaster’s Sky Sports 3 channel will be renamed Sky Sports Darts from December 18 until January 5.
The renamed channel will broadcast more than 370 hours of programming, including live coverage of each match from the 2015 PDC World Darts Championship.
Additional programming will include various magazine programmes, highlights of previous events and a documentary show with Michael van Gerwen, winner of last year’s PDC World Darts Championship.
The 2015 PDC World Darts Championship will take place at London’s Alexandra Palace from December 18 until January 4.
Earlier this year, BSkyB also dedicated one of its Sky Sports channels to coverage of the 2014 Ryder Cup golf tournament. Sky Sports 4 was renamed Sky Sports Ryder Cup from September 18 until October 2.
