BT and ITV sign boxing content sharing deal around Fury-Wilder

UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport and free-to-air commercial broadcaster ITV have signed a one-off boxing content-sharing deal to promote the Fury-Wilder fight on Saturday.

The agreement involves the simultaneous live broadcast of the rematch between British and Commonwealth Super-Bantamweight champion Brad Foster and Lucien Reid.

Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions said: “This unique broadcasting partnership… brings bigger exposure for our boxers who can become household names.”

The Foster-Reid fight will immediately be followed by the pay-per-view coverage of the Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder heavyweight championship rematch on BT Box Office.

The BT-ITV tie-up offers the opportunity for the pay-per-view fight to receive free-to-air promotion.

Tyson Fury has a co-promotional deal with Queensberry Promotions and US-based Top Rank.

Subscription streaming service DAZN said earlier this week it has acquired rights in five countries to the Fury-Wilder rematch.
