UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has agreed a deal to televise the concluding stages of the 2014 Fiba World Cup national team basketball tournament.
BT Sport’s live coverage commenced with the USA’s 96-68 victory over Lithuania in the World Cup’s first semi-final on Thursday.
Live coverage will continue with the second semi-final between France and Serbia today (Friday) before concluding with Sunday’s showpiece final in Madrid, Spain.
The HoopsFix.com website said the LiveBasketball.tv had previously been the only legal option for World Cup viewing in the UK, but added that Fiba, basketball’s world governing body, had intended for a television deal to be in place for the closing stages of the event.
