UK telecommunications company BT is to make its BT Sport pay-television channels available on Google’s Chromecast internet streaming service, according to the Financial Times newspaper.
John Petter, head of BT’s consumer division, said the channels will only be available to BT broadband customers.
BT Sport will become the second UK broadcaster to place content on Google Chromecast. Public-service broadcaster the BBC has already made its video-on-demand iPlayer service available on Chromecast.
BT did not state a launch date for the new service.
