UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has struck a media rights deal to show highlights of the Formula E Championship, the new electric car-racing series operated by the FIA, motorsport’s global governing body.
BT Sport will show a one-hour highlights programme in the week following all 10 rounds of the 2014-15 championship.
The broadcaster, which agreed the deal with the MP & Silva agency, will show race and qualifying coverage plus the latest news, features and interviews in each programme.
UK commercial broadcaster ITV has already acquired live rights for the championship, with the coverage to be shown on digital-terrestrial channel ITV4.
