UK commercial broadcaster Channel 5 has acquired rights for the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) 10 event in London in September.
Channel 5’s sister channel 5* will show the action live from 9pm to 11pm on Saturday, September 15, while Channel 5 will show highlights of the event the following week.
“We are proud to be leading MMA into the UK mainstream under a British banner and welcome the opportunity that Channel 5 brings to further establish the sport of Mixed Martial Arts in this country,” BAMMA director David Green said.
Channel 5 has shown no MMA since December when its 18-month deal expired with Ultimate Fighting Championship for delayed rights and magazine programming.
