Video-sharing website Dailymotion has acquired rights for the France v Germany national football team friendly match tomorrow (Wednesday) evening.
Dailymotion, which said the deal was “part of its drive to bring more quality sports content to its 110 million monthly viewers,” will provide live coverage of the game for free to viewers in the UK, Japan and the Netherlands.
Dailymotion agreed the one-game deal with the Fédération Française de Football, the French football federation.
“The friendly match between is the latest of a series of football streams we have shown, from French league games to early Europa League qualifiers,” Marc Eychenne, head of international content at Dailymotion, said. “This is on top of the array of different sports we also feature, from the Vendée Globe [yacht race] to extreme sports, roller derbies to rugby sevens and even chess boxing. Dailymotion has the size, reach and capacity to offer a true spectrum of sporting entertainment around the world.”
