Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda has formally submitted a bid to acquire the Infront Sports & Media agency, according to Swiss public-service broadcaster RTS.
The report said that the offer is worth about CHF1bn (€950m/$1.1bn).
The agency told the AFP news agency that it would not comment on “market rumours.”
News of Dalian Wanda’s interest emerged in December, with the UK’s Financial Times newspaper reporting that the conglomerate, which is owned by Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin, was closing in on a deal to take over Infront.
The agency’s parent company, private equity firm Bridgepoint, set a deadline of the end of November for bids, with asset management firm Lazard advising Infront on the potential sale.
