Major League Soccer’s DC United is in talks with regional sports network NBC Sports Washington over a local media-rights deal.
According to the Washington Post, DC United has also had discussions with local Fox affiliate WTTG, the Sinclair Broadcast Group and an unnamed national streaming service. The team is also looking for a separate streaming deal.
The planned deal with NBC Sports Washington follows DC United’s disastrous partnership with subscription-based OTT streaming provider FloSports, which was cut short after less than a season in October 2019.
DC United recently extended its jersey sponsorship deal with government contractor Leidos through the 2021 season. The club is also in the process of adding safe-standing seats to Audi Field.
