German telco Deutsche Telekom and sports broadcaster Sport1 will show the climax of the domestic Basketball Bundesliga season, which is scheduled to run from June 6-28 in Munich.
The season has been on hold since March 8 following the Covid-19 outbreak but an agreement has been reached to conclude the 2019-20 season with a 10-team ‘finals’ tournament.
Deutsche Telekom’s MagentaSport OTT service will show all 35 games live, with two games per day to be shown during the group stage of the season finale. The platform will also provide highlights, news and interviews.
The league said that Sport1 will show selected games on free-to-air television in parallel with Deutsche Telekom’s coverage.
The Basketball Bundesliga has been cleared to conclude the season following a Bavarian government cabinet meeting held yesterday (Tuesday). All players, staff and media will comply with strict safety and hygiene regulations to ensure games go ahead safely.
Both Deutsche Telekom and Sport1 have deals in place to cover the league until the end of the 2022-23 season, with the latter sublicensing the rights from the former.
