Chinese digital media firm Douyin Group has acquired rights for this year's Fifa World Cup in a sublicensing deal with the state-owned China Media Group, parent of state broadcaster CCTV.
Douyin Group said this week it had signed a “strategic live streaming partnership” with CMG. CMG acquired linear and digital rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in a deal brokered by the Infront agency.
