English cricket’s governing body, the England and Wales Cricket Board, will live stream a non-televised fixture for the first time when it shows the one-day international women’s Ashes game between England and Australia at Lord’s on August 20 via its official website and YouTube channel.
This summer, the ECB has already streamed the first three Test matches of the ongoing men’s Ashes series on video-sharing website YouTube to more than 50 countries across mainland Europe and North America. The channel has received 2.4m of its 5m views this year during the series.
Additionally, the ECB’s YouTube channel offers highlights from all England international matches and domestic competitions, along with behind-the-scenes features and player interviews.
The 2013 Women's Ashes Series will comprise of one Test match, three ODIs and three Twenty20 matches.
The three T20 matches will be broadcast live by pay-television broadcaster BSkyB with the latter two being played directly before the men's fixtures.
