Social media platform Twitter will stream live coverage of the ELeague esports competition today (Friday) and tomorrow.
Under the deal with the ELeague, which is operated by the Turner media company and the WME-IMG agency, Twitter will show live coverage of today’s semi-finals and Saturday’s final of the inaugural championship, which uses the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive game.
The event is taking place in Atlanta, US, and will be the first esports competition to be shown live on Twitter.
In addition to the live coverage, the @EL Twitter handle will provide real-time highlights, as well as score updates and other information. Twitter’s video platform, Periscope, will also offer behind-the-scenes content, including player interviews.
