Pay-television broadcaster ESPN Brazil has renewed its rights deal for the Superbike World Championship motorcycling series, for a further three years, from 2013 to 2015.
The contract extension, which affords ESPN Brazil exclusive rights from next season, was agreed with the Infront Sports & Media agency, which distributes the worldwide media rights to the series.
The pay-television broadcaster will show live and delayed coverage of all 14 rounds from the championship, which will also be available in high definition.
ESPN Brazil’s current deal, struck midway through the 2011 season and covering 2012, is non-exclusive.
Stephan Herth, executive director of summer sports at Infront, said: “This new agreement with ESPN Brazil is a great achievement for the sport as it guarantees continuous presence in a growth market with a strong affinity for motorcycling. The long-term nature of the arrangement allows ESPN to establish high quality coverage, help to make the series even more accessible for the audience and transmit the fascination of motor racing at the highest level to the fans in Brazil.”
