European pay-television sports broadcaster Eurosport has confirmed the acquisition of rights in Germany for the MotoGP motorcycling world championship.
The exclusive deal with Dorna Sports, the championship’s promoter, will run for four years, from 2015 to 2018.
Eurosport will provide coverage on television and digital platforms of all rounds of the MotoGP series, including Friday free practices, Saturday qualifiers and Sunday races in all three classes – MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3.
Eurosport will provide live coverage via its Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels as well as Eurosport Player, the broadcaster’s dedicated online television service.
In April, Eurosport acquired rights for MotoGP coverage in France for three seasons, from 2015 to 2017.
News of the deal in Germany emerged yesterday (Thursday) in various reports, without the details of the agreement being disclosed.
