Eurosport France, the French arm of pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport, has agreed a deal with the Fédération Française de Football (FFF), the French football federation, for rights to the U-20 national team’s home friendly matches for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.
The deal follows the urgent release of a tender for the rights after the FFF’s broadcast partner for other youth and women’s team matches, commercial broadcaster Direct 8, turned down the rights for the U-20 matches.
Eurosport France will show six matches in total, beginning with France v Ukraine on November 13, followed by France v Portugal on February 5. The opposition for the four other matches, scheduled to take place in March and June, is yet to be determined. The matches are part of France’s preparations for the Fifa U-20 World Cup in Turkey next June and July.
