International sports broadcaster Eurosport has acquired rights in Poland for the DFB-Pokal, the top domestic football knockout competition in Germany.
The exclusive deal will run for four seasons, from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
Eurosport will broadcast a minimum of 19 games live per season on its Eurosport 1 and 2 channels, as well as its Eurosport Player digital platform.
“The strategic investment in the media rights to DFB-Pokal, a tournament featuring many Polish football players on a regular basis, is a decision made specifically with the Polish market and Polish fans in mind,” said Dorota Żurkowska-Bytner, the senior vice-president and country manager of Discovery Poland, which operates Eurosport in the country.
Borussia Dortmund won the 2016-17 DFB-Pokal, defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 in the final.
